Administering Nursing Services is the responsibility of the registered nurse as specified in the legal definition of nursing referenced in the Nursing Practice Act. Administering nursing services includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Work under Director of Nursing, other RN, Physician, or other person authorized by state law to provide supervision of RN Scope of Practice
- Identify, develop, implement, update and carry out Plans of Care for resident’s care delivery
- Manage licensed and unlicensed personnel who provide nursing care consistent with Paragraphs (a) through (i) of the RN rules and which include:
- Make frequent rounds on the assigned unit to ensure care is being properly provided and that the resident’s environment is clean, free from clutter and safety hazards
- Manage staff under RN supervision to ensure care and documentation is complete and appropriate
- Provide educational guidance to staff under supervision of RN
